Will of Robert Plompton of Plompton, esq. Whereas he has enfeoffed his mother Dame Joan Plompton and others of his manors, lands, tenements, rents, reversions, advowsons and commodities in Yorks, Notts, Derbyshire and Staffs, his will is that in the event of his death Dame Joan and Dame Agnes, his wife, are to receive jointly and without disturbance the revenues, offices farms and profits therefrom and raise a sum of 400m as a portion for his daughter Jane, should she be granted ‘the grace of life’; that they should lose no time in paying his dues and debts, and in rewarding his servants according to their deserts. After the deaths of his wife and mother the feoffees are to make a lawful estate of all the premises to Jane Plompton his daughter and her heirs in perpetuity.
