I vnderstand, Sir, that his mother hath put hir matter to your mastership.
Sir, and it be so, he shall byd your mastership in likewyse. Wherfore,
Sir, I pray you hartely, and as euer I may do you service, for to be
good master to John Marshall, & the better for this my prayer. For,
Sir, I haue spoken of þat matter herbefore, and they sayd at they wold
haue bydene my rule. Sir, I am well pleased þat ye haue a rule in þat
matter, or another matter in this country; it pleases me well; for, Sir, I
will take your part in any matter ye have here, or in any other place.
Sir, I pray you harteley þat ye wold for my sake to let the matter rest,
to þat I may speake with your mastership, for this my prayer. For, Sir,
I am to you as I was to my master, your father, & so shall I be while
I live, with grace of God, who kepe you. Morover, Sir, it is letten me
wytt þat they have enformed your mastership þat John Marshall labors
