136 The earl of Northumberland to Sir Robert Plumpton, 15 June
[?1499] (No. 58, p. 34)[p. 35] Right hartely beloued cousin, I commend me vnto you. And
wheras variance and discord is depending betwixt my servant Thomas
Saxston and Richard Ampleford,1 of my lordshipe of Spofford, the
cause wherof, as I am enformed, hath bene, or this, shewed vnto you,
and if it hath not, I desire & pray you reply to examen it, and therevpon
to shew your louyng diligence, not onely to se the peace kept in this
behalfe, but also to sett the sayd parties at agreement, so that this
matter may be pacefied. And for as much as ye have the rule ther
vnder me, I pray you to shew you of semblable disposicion if any
matter of varience hereafter happen within your sayd rule, so that the
parties sue not to me, if ye by your discret wysdome can reforme it, as
my very trust is in you. And in this doyng ye shall shew vnto me
thankfull pleasure, that knoweth God, who preserue you. Written in
my castill of Wrekworth, the xv day of June. Cousin, I pray you to se
this matter pacefied, that there be no more calling vpon me therfore,

LETTER XLVII.
To my Right hartely belove Cousin, Sir Robart Plompton, knight.
Right hartely beloved Cousin, I commennd me unto you.
