64 The earl of Northumberland to Sir Robert Plumpton, 31 July [?1488] (No.
54, p. 33)Right hartely beloued cousin, I commend me vnto you, thanking you
for my servant, Richard Greene, and desire & pray you þat if Bastard
Aldborgh,1 Richard Leds, or such other as of late, as I am enformed,have made reuery and withdrawen goods, contrayrie to the kings lawes,
within the lordshipp of Knaresborough, where as ye haue rule, can be
come by, ye comitt them to ward [within] the castell of Knarsbrough,
therin still to remayne vnto þat ye haue further knowledg of my pleasure
in this behalfe. And [over] this, cousin, whereas I haue assigned my
servant William Bullo<cke> to leuy & receiue such rents & farmes &
also arrerages as are due & growen of the lands that late were William
Aldburgs, wherin ye & I, with other, stand infeoffed, & to be reserved
to that my pleasure therin be vnderstanden. I therefore desire & pray
you if any person would interupt him in thexecution herof, ye will shew
your good will in the lawfull defending therof, and also in the geting
of all such hay as is vpon the sayd ground, not fayling herof, as my
speciall trust is in you, whom God kepe. Written in my castell of

To my right hartely beloved Cousin, Sir Robart Plompton, Kt.
Right hartely beloved Cousin, I commennd me unto you, thank-
