36 The earl of Northumberland to Sir Robert Plumpton, 14 February
[?1481/2] (No. 51, p. 31)Right hartely beloued cousin, I commend me vnto yu. And wheras I
conceiue þat wheras award was ordred in the matter of variance
depending betwixt John Polleyn,1 on the one partie, and George
Tankard,2 with other taking his part, or the other party, I am enformed
þat ye said parties bene now at trauerse in that behalfe, contrary to
such derections as were taken. I, willing ye pacefying and reformation
hereof, by the aduyse of you and other of my counsell, desire & pray
you, cousin, at your comying to me at Yorke vppon Thursday next
comying, to cause the sayd Georg & the other persones to com with
you, and þat ye shew your good will for the performance herof, as my
very trust is in you, whom God kepe. Written in my castell of Wresell,
the xiiij day of February.Your cousin Hen: Northumberlanda

LETTER VII.
To my right hartely beloved cousin, Sir Robart Plomton, kt.
Right hartely beloved cousin, I commend me unto you. And
wheras I conceive, that wheras award was ordred in the matter of
variance depending betwixt John Polleyn a on the one partie, and
Georg Tankard b with other taking his parte on the other party, I
