61 The Cellarer of Newburgh to Sir Robart Plompton (No. 60, p. 36)
Right worshipful Sir, I recommend me to you. I thank you, Sir, of
your labor and good will. Sir, it is so that I haue no more of the ferm
content of þat at is owying, but xiiijs. Also Robert Goles [. . .]a
<brought> with him a byll of alowance for [. . .]b <Aykton kilne>, and
I haue answered him þat he shall haue as much as is our charge to
do. Therfore it was sene by our tenants, & set to a valow what should
be our charge to do, & þat shall he haue. I vnderstand it was either
25s or 27s. Also, Sir, as for as touching William Paver ferme, I am not
content; I put it in respate til I come over, for he sayth at he hath payd
for suyt of court at Spofforth ij yeare, and also fee ferme for one yeare;
and he thinks to haue the farmhould for 2 vijs viijd in one yeare, but
he shall not; and so I [. . .]c <send him>. The bringer herof shall show
you more credence herein. Sir, if it please you vpon Tewsday come a
sennyt, I would haue your court at Follyfait, that i might make leuy of
our fermes pat are behind. Sir, I say no more, but [. . .]d <Jesus> haue
you in his keping. Written at Newbrough this day, by your ownebeadman, Cellarer of Newburghe

LETTER XXXV.
To Sir Robart Plompton, knyght, be thes delivered.
Right worshipfull Sir, I recommend me to you. I thank you, Sir,
of your labor and good will. Sir, it is so that I have no more of the
