219 Sir William Gascoigne to Sir Robert Plumpton, 3 March [after
1521] (No. 70, p. 40)Uncle Plompton, I recommend me vnto you, desiring you to call to
your remembrance the byrth of my nephew William Farfax,1 which
was borne with you at Plompton, and let me haue the dayt of his
byrth. Also I pray you let me haue the dayt <of> the marriage of my
cosin Hair2 & your daughter, which ye haue in wrytting, as I am
enformed; & ye thus doyng, bynds me to doe you as great a pleasure,
which I shalbe glad to dow, with the grace of God, who preserue you
to his pleasure. I thus fare <ye> well. From Gawkthorp, ?e third day

To my Uncle Plompton be these delivered.
Uncle Plompton, I recomend me unto you, desiring you to call
to your remembrance the byrth of my nephew William Farfax,a
which was borne with you at Plompton,and let me have the dayt
of his birth. Also I pray you let me have the dayt of the mar-
raige of my cosing Hair and your daughter,b which ye have in wryt-
ting, as I am enformed; and ye thus doyng bynds me to doe you
