228 Sir Robert Neville1 to William Plumpton, [16 November 1532] (No.
33, p. 215)Right worthy and welbeloued coussin,a in my full hertily maner I
recommend me to you. The cause of my writing to you at this time is
that I wad be very glad to speake with you as touching my cousin
Robart Sheifeld,2 whose soule Jesus haue mercy, for my frinds in
Lincolnshire hath letten me haue vnderstand<ing> that ye haue some
knowledgeging in the thing touching that matter, the which I would
desire you that I may know. For surely if ye can let me haue knowledge
of any thing [. . .]b <concerning the same,> ye do vs a great pleasure,
and a great deade of charrety to bring to knowledg, for I assure you I
would to take great paine to come to perfit knowledge. Wherfor,
coussin, if it would please you that I might know your mind perfetly in
wryting by this my servant, or that it like you that I might speake with
you my selfe, I will be at Harrwood of Monday next, with grace of
God, and that ye will take a litle paines to come thider, that I might
speak with you. I shall take paines to labor twice as far, if ye call of
me, with grace of Jesus, who kepe you. From Liversay, this Saterday

LETTER. IX.
To the right worshipful and his welbeloved Cousin William Plomp-
ton, esquire.Right worthy and welbeloved Cousin, in my full hertely maner
I recommend me to you. The cause of my writing to you at this
time is, that I wad be very glad to speake with you as touching
Cousin, Sir Robart Sheifeld,a whose soule Jesus have mercy; for
my frinds in Linconshire hath letten me have understanding that
ye have some knowledging in the thing touching that matter, the
which I would desire you that I may know. For surely if ye can

1532.b Sir Robert Nevillof Liversedge, com. Ebor. kt. son of Thomas Nevill, esq. and
Isabel, daughter of Sir Robert Sheffield, kt. Recorder of the City of London,named
in a former Letter. (See Letter CXIV. ) He died 10 Aug. 1516, and had by Ellen,
daughter of John Delves, esq. Sir Robert, his successor, Isabel or Elizabeth above
named, and other children.
