LETTER CXII.
To my right worshipfull Cousin, Sir Robart Plompton, Knyght.
Right worshipfull Cousin, I hartyly recomend me unto you,
desiring you to send me my letter John Talloyr delyvered you.
Please yt you to do soe much for me in this terme, to leyn me
and send unto me by this berrer, James Potsay, V marke. I by
this wrytting, faythfully I promise you to content and pay you the
sayd V markes by the date of this my bill at Mighellmas the next;
and for that defalt, I clearly dyscharg me, and ye to have all my lands
and rents at Kyrby uppon Wharfe for ever. And also I desire
you to take credence unto this berer which knowes my mynd;
and also this letter may recomend me unto my lady your wyfe.
And evermore fare ye well, the xxxt day of August.

a Robert Hastings, esq. and William Dalyson of
Laghton in Lindsay, com. Line,
gent. submitted their differences to the arbitration of Sir Robert Plumpton, Sir
John
Hastings, knights, and Nicholas Mydleton, esq. 23 Sept. 13 Hen. VII. 1497. (Chartul.
No. 790.) He was probably a younger brother of Sir John Hastings, who under
Dame Margaret Babthorpe had acquired lands and rents at Kirby-Wharf.
