153 John Pullein to Sir Robert Plumpton, [31 May 1501] (No. 154, p. 97)
Right worshipfull Sir, I recomend me vnto your mastership, letting you
vnderstand þat lady I sent dyvers letters to you, thaffect of which letters
was þat your aduersaries intendeth suerly to attempt þe law against
you. Therfore I can wryt no other thing to your mastership, but oftymes
remember my wryting: it toucheth your worship & welle. Therfore
make your frynds to take your part as frynds shold doe, as well in
Nott[inghamshire], Derb[shire], as Yorkshire, and God, I trust, shalbe
steresman in every ryghtwyse cause. Master Robt Constable, servant,1
shalbe iustice of assise in Cornewall, Devenshir, and other west coun-
tryes, with Master Frowike,2 so þat I trust he shal not be at this assise.
Such pronunstications as a speciall freind let to me, I copied them, as
your worship shall see & receiue herwithall, closed. As for all other
causes, this bringer can shew to you by word as larg as I can wryte, as
Jesu knoweth, who preserve you. From Lyncolns Inne at London, this

To the Right worshipfull, and his especiall good master, Sir Robart
Plompton, knight.Right worshipfull Sir, I recomend me unto your mastership,
letting you understand, that latly I send dyvers letters to you;
thaffect of which letters was, that your adversaries intendeth suerly
to attempt the law against you. Therfore I can wryt no other
