357. INVENTORY OF PLATE.
C. 1482.
The date may possibly be about 1482, when some business was in tran-
saction both with Rush and Unton (see No. 31 A). The reference to Thomas
Hardgrave shows that the date must be later than 1479, when Sir William
Stonor acquired Nursling. William Barkeley, to whom there is reference in
No. 314, was associated with Stonor in the purchase of Nursling. Thomas
Hardgrave or Hargrove, had or professed to have, some claim on Nursling,
which many years later, in 1491, his sons-in-law attempted to assert against
Stonor, as described in the Star Chamber Proceedings printed in the English
Historical Review, xxxv. 421-32. His son-in-law, John Welles, was then
one of the co-defendants. From Chancery Misc. 37, iv. 63.18Plate delivered to Maister Russh at London by Hugh Unton.1
