Indenture between Sir Robert Plompton, kt, and Ralph Haigh, wit- nessing that after disagreements and controversies between the parties regarding the right, title and possession of the manor of Darley with appurtenances, valued at 10m yearly, the parties agreed to obey the award of Robert Eyre, esq., who, having knowledge of the titles, replications, records and allegations of both parties, agreed to their request and makes his award as follows: [1] Ralph Haigh is to deliver into his custody within 6 days after the date of this award all his evidences concerning Sir Robert Plompton for safe-keeping until Sir Robert shall have granted him an annuity of 5m payable at Pentecost and St Martin in Winter by equal portions, from the issues of manors and tenements held by Sir Robert in Hassop. The annuity is to be made before the 10 Nov. next and must include a clause allowing for distraint. [ii] On the day of the making of the annuity the parties are to make mutual acquittances of all manner of actions, causes and demands between them.
Witnesses: Thomas Meverell, the younger, esq., Robert Plompton, gent., John Waston, chaplain, Henry Fox, yeoman and others.
