Indenture between Sir Robert Plompton, kt, and Dame Isabel, his wife, and William Plompton, his son and heir apparent, witnessing an agreement between the parties that both shall make to William Ingleby and Guy Willesthorpe, esqrs, Robert Plompton, the younger, gent., and Sir Thomas Angrom, clerk, their heirs and assigns, a sufficient estate in law of and in a messuage or tenement called Rudfarlington and all the lands, meadows, pastures and woods thereto pertaining, now in the tenure of Richard Paver, also in all other lands [etc.] within the lordsip of Plumpton, Yorks, except 2 closes held for life by Richard Plompton, chaplain, also in these 2 closes after Richard’s death, and in all the lands and tenements [etc.] with their appurtenances called Moorehouse within the said lordship, now in the tenure of John Wright, also in 3 burgages, and all the lands [etc.] with their appurtenances in Knaresborough, now in the several tenures of Edward Gibson, William Smith and William Parke, all of which premises shall be to the use of Sir Robert Plompton, kt, and Dame Isabel, and to the survivor of them, to secure therefrom in jointure a clear 20m per annum without impeachment of waste, with remainder to William and his heirs male. In default of such heirs, remainder in tail male to the heirs of Sir Robert, and in default of such heirs, to the next heirs of Sir Robert.
The above feoffees shall make a sufficient estate of a clear £10 per annum out of other lands and hereditaments in Yorks to the use of Sir Robert for life, with remainder to the use of Robert Plompton the younger, Marmaduke and Neil, the 3 younger sons of Sir Robert, for life, to be divided equally between them, and with remainder to William Plompton and his heirs mele, remainder in default [as above].
Sir Robert shall make to the aforesaid feoffees and their assigns a sufficient legal estate in the manor of Plumpton, and in all other lands [etc.] which he or any other to his use has within the county to the use of the said Sir Robert for life, with remainder to William and his heirs male, remainder in default [as above].
