Indenture between John Yaxley, sergeant-at-law and John Pulan

Indenture between John Yaxley, sergeant-at-law and John Pulan, gent.,
witnessing that John Yaxley is to be present at the next assizes to be
held at York, Nottingham and Derby as counsel representing Sir Robert
Plompton, kt, in such actions as shall be required. For his services,
including his expenses and labour, John Pulan is to pay him 40m on
the 8 Sept. next, or within 8 days thereafter, of which £5 is to be paid
on account. If he is given due notice that his services are required only
at Nottingham and Derby Yaxley is to receive £15 in addition to the
sum paid on account, and if he is given due warning that his services
will not be required at all, then he will retain only the £5 paid on
account for his good will and labour. Sir Robert shall pay Yaxley’s
expenses at York, Nottingham and Derby.
