65 12 July 1505
Indenture between Henry VII and William and Isabel Plompton, witnessing that the king agreed to grant special livery of all the lordships, manors, lands, tenements and other hereditaments to which they were entitled by virtue of Isabel’s inheritance from Dame Isabel Hastings, deceased. Nevertheless to the end that the king may be apprised of the true value of all the premises, a parchment roll containing a valor, dated as above, and certified as accurate by William by oath upon the Holy Evangelist before the king’s council, is attached to this indenture.
For his part William grants that the king’s auditor shall be given full facility, at his expense, to inspect the estates, to adjust any which may have been undervalued or concealed and to charge William with any surcharge. In case of concealment William shall pay double the yearly value of the property or properties concerned.1 Signed Dudley.
