223 Henry Percy1 to William Plumpton, 18 September [before 19 May
1527] (No. 17, p. 196)Right trusty and welbeloued,a I great you hartly well, and whear there
is done & trau<ersed> betwixt you and the tennants of Folefeit Poole,b
of my lord and father lordship of Spofforth, for our courte in this time
within his said township of Folefout, and, as I vnderstand, ye ar
contented to bide the order of me and others of the said lord and my
fathers cowncell of and vpon the premises, so that an end wear maid
before months day next. And so it is now at this time that I haue had,
and yet [p. 197] hath, such buisenes as I can not attent it this time;c
wherfore I pray you be contented to giue sparing to the next head cort
at Spoforth, at which time ye shall haue an end, with my lord and
fathers fauor and mine. And if you doe break and make iij or iiij gaps
in Folefout feild, as ye clame to doo, of coustam yearly, thearwith I am
content at this time, so that ye doe make noe more buisenes therin to
the time when the said matter be ordered or determined. And herof at
this time, I pray you faile not, as my trust is in you. Written at the

LETTER IV.
To my right trusty and welbeloved Wiliam Plompton, ewquire.
Right trusty and welbeloved, I great you hartely well; and
whear there is done and traversed betwixt you and the tennants of
Folefeit Poole, of my lord and father Lordship of Spofforth, for
our Courte in this time within his said township of Floefot, and
as I understand, ye are contented to bide the order of me and

father in the 18th Hen. VIII. 1526, but the day his father died appears to be
unascertained.
