Grant by Thomas Rempston, kt, to William Plompton, kt, of his manors of Plumpton, Idle, Steeton in Airedale, Nessfield, Grassington in Craven and Little Studley, near Ripon, with their appurtenances, rents and services, together with the advowson and presentation of the chantry of the Holy Trinity in the church of Ripon, Yorks, which all and singular premises were held by Alice de Plompton, Richard de Norton, chief justice of the court of common pleas, John Butelere, esq.,
and John Grene, all now deceased, by the gift and feoffment of Robert Plompton, father of William Plompton, kt, and Godfrey his brother. To have and hold the aforesaid premises to William and his lawfully begotten heirs male of the chief lords of that fee and by services thence owed and accustomed by right. Remainder in case of the death of William without male heirs is to Godfrey and his heirs male, to be held [etc.], and in case of Godfrey’s death without heirs male to the right heirs of William in perpetuity, to hold [etc].
