113 Edward Plumpton to Sir Robert Plumpton, [14 January 1495/6] (No.
188, p. 123)In my ryght humble wyse I recomend me vnto your good mastership, &
to my singuler good lady. Afore my lord of Carlel1 hath passed <so>
by the way at his lodging at Poumfret & Scroby, þat as yet I spake not
with his lordship. I spake with his seruants, & they shewed to me Ch.
Kilborn rideth not vp with him. Yt was shewed me þat vppon Thursday
last ther was a great iustice sat at Wentbrig; [p. 124] I wold fayne know
what was done there, & afore þat in such matters as concerned you.
Master Tailbose2 was at Colliweston3 vppon Tuesday, Wedensday &
Thursday last, as the bringer can shew, els I wold haue written much
more. My lord of Darby departith towards London vpon Munday
come a senit. Davy4 recomend him to your mastership, & when we
come to London ye shall haue a strayt restreynt for Haueray. Our
Lord preserue you & yours. At Stampforth, crastino hallarij.Your humble seruant Ed: Plomptona

To my singular good master Sir Robart Plompton, knyght.
In my right humble wyse I recomend me unto your good mas-
