A court held at Knaresburgh. William Plompton, esq., son of William Plompton, kt, held of the king according to the custom of the forest 1 acre of land in the hamlet of ‘Fellescliff’ within the vill of Clint called ’Kirkacre’, formerly in the tenure of John Malham; a messuage, 16 acres and a ‘denarium’ per annum in the hamlet of ‘Rowdon’ within the lordship of Clint, formerly held by William Hebden and Margaret his wife; a half-acre of land in the hamlet of Birstwith, formerly held by William Webster; 2 acres of meadow called ‘Moracres’ in Clint, formerly held by Thomas Malham; a messuage with 7 acres and a ‘denarium’ per annum in ‘Rowdon’, formerly held by William, son of Robert Tilleson; 1 obulat’ of newly assarted land in Birstwith, formerly held by John Curtas and Joan, his wife; a messuage with 2 acres of land in the vill of Killinghall, and half a messuage with 2 acres of land in the hamlet of Hampsthwaite within the vill of Clint, formerly held by Ralph Beckwith; a messuage with 16 acres of land called ‘Crookesnab’ and a pasture called ‘Stockbrignure’ Close, formerly held by Richard Bren- nand and Elizabeth his wife. After diem clausit extremum following the death of William Plompton, esq., his daughters and heirs Margaret and Elizabeth came and took of the king the aforesaid premises to them and their heirs and assigns to hold according to the custom of the forest, saving the life interest of Elizabeth, formerly the wife of the said William Plompton.
